MERRY CHRISTMAS 2011!!

It's this time of the year again when everyone is celebrating the birth of JESUS CHRIST. YUP!! Here in the PHILIPPINES, we have our very own way of celebrating CHRISTMAS and nothing beats the FILIPINO TRADITION. YUP!! Spending the holidays with Relatives, Friends, and Love Ones makes it very meaningful. Well, my little blog "The Doctor Is In" is one with the whole world in greeting everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS 2011!! This is my blog's 5th CHRISTMAS here in the blogosphere and hopefully we will continue to have more CHRISTMAS giving you the best CHEERS all year long. THANKS to everyone to continue to visit my blog once in a while. Hmmp? That's one kind of motivation!! That's one of my "BELEN" at home in the Blogpost Header photo together of course with my classic Rubik's Cube and my Vinyl Record of "A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS". So this Yuletide Season, do spread the cheers, love, and joy to everybody. Christmas In Our Hearts

"Christmas In Our Hearts" album of JOSE MARI CHAN was released by UNIVERSAL RECORDS back in 1990. It is still the ONLY OPM Christmas album that has reached Double Diamond Record status as of December 2006. Well, I still remember this term "Double Diamond Record Award" which became very controversial because PINOY Folk Legend Freddie Aguilar questioned this type of award back on those days. The album is considered as "The Best-Selling OPM Christmas Album Of All Time"! This is the equivalent of 20 times platinum or 800,000 copies sold! Wow!! That's a lot I may say!! Jose Mari Chan holds the distinction of achieving not one, but Two Double Diamond Records in the local recording industry with "Christmas In Our Hearts" and "Constant Change". Jose Mari Chan has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Philippine Association of the Recording Industry better known as P.A.R.I. and The Metro Pop Foundation. He was also the recipient of the first ever ABS-CBN "ELITE Platinum Award" in 2005 and of the 2006 Dr. Jose P. Rizal Award For Excellence. Jose Mari Chan also made it big with the song "Beautiful Girl" back in 1989 from his "Constant Change" album. I uploaded the whole "Christmas In Our Hearts" CD just in case you wanna have a copy and I still encourage you to buy the original. The CD Cover was conceptualized and designed by Aperture 32 Inc. and Photography by Teddy Tan. This CD contains 16 great tracks with a combination of original Christmas compositions and some traditional Christmas Carols. Like what I've mentioned before, nothing beats the Pinoy Christmas celebration and definitely whenever I hear "Christmas In Our Hearts" duet of Jose Mari Chan and Liza Chan I really feel the spirit of Christmas which will always be in my heart. Huh? Sounds like the song lyrics right? It has been a very busy Christmas Week for me attending Christmas Parties here and there. Those food trippings definitely will add up weight again so I guess I have to watch it out. He He He!! Well, that Christmas Shopping fever will never run out of style and I will never forget another touching experience of sharing some blessings to the needy when I was able to help out giving gifts to the less fortunate ones. Of course, attending masses whether It's the Simbang Gabi or the ordinary mass.The spirit of Christmas should always be in our hearts!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!Timeless Christmas Carols

Today is December 8,2009 and It's the "FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION". After hearing mass today and hearing those Christmas Carols during mass and at the shopping malls recently, I realized that Christmas Spirit is in the air and the "Simbang Gabi" or "Misa De Gallo" would start next week. Btw, I just ate Puto Bumbong and Bibingka after the mass. KABAYANS, I guess with the recent tremendous political anxiety happening around our country, we still have to continue the PINOY CHRISTMAS SPIRIT okay. So may I present you a Christmas CD entitled "HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Timeless Christmas Carols" sang by RAY MONTGOMERY SINGERS which will brighten up your Yuletide Season. YUP!! Christmas Decorations, Lights, and anything associated with Christmas is all over the metropolis already reminding us of the celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ on December 25th. So to celebrate it, I'm featuring these great tunes for you regular visitors of my little blog "The Doctor Is In" . Well, this would be my 3rd Christmas in the blogosphere which started wayback Christmas 2007, then going to 2008, and now 2009, then 2010 to 2011 and 12/2012....and more years hopefully. Wheeew!! That "2012" movie is really scary don't you think? Time flies so fast indeed and you just don't know what hit you. I just wanna thank all of you guys who visits my blog and especially those who have supported it for the past years. CHRISTMAS is in the air so let's sing these tunes!!


"HAPPY HOLIDAYS! : Timeless Christmas Carols" contains 10 tracks wherein 5 tracks are in Medley format and the other 5 tracks are single song tracks which will really remind you of the songs usually being played on radio or even the shopping malls and even the famous carnivals here in the Philippines. Speaking of carnivals, I just remembered the Legendary "BIG BANG SA ALABANG" and "PAYANIG SA PASIG" which were both very famous during Christmas Seasons here in MANILA back in the mid to late 80s. Wheeew!! I guess, that's the good old days of the Giant Slide which I think was about 20 storeys high and was the main attraction back then. Wow!! MEMORIES INDEED!! Well, the CD content are Traditional Foreign Christmas Carols that I think all of you are also familiar too. This Christmas CD is distributed by VICOR MUSIC CORPORATION via PEAK MUSIC and if you're interested to have a copy then I uploaded my entire CD for you to enjoy the music of classic Christmas Carols here on my little blog. Songs like "O HOLY NIGHT", "WINTER WONDERLAND", "DECK THE HALLS", and "HARK THE ANGELS" are some of the Christmas carols that will make you sing while listening to the entire CD. The song "LITTLE DRUMMER BOY" which I made a blogpost three months ago is also included here. Well, I didn't anymore include the TRACKLIST here in my blogpost since I know that you're very familiar with all the songs here. As the title itself says.... It's Timeless Christmas Carols. Little Drummer Boy

Today is September 16, 2009 and for THE PHILIPPINE CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN then It's 100 days before CHRISTMAS 2009. YUP!! The Philippines has the longest CHRISTMAS SEASON which officially starts on the so-called BER MONTHS and I guess that would be September One. The "Little Drummer Boy" is a popular Christmas song, with words and music by KATHERINE K. DAVIS. The most popular version was the one sung and recorded by THE HARRY SIMEONE CHORAL. HENRY ONORATI and HARRY SIMEONE have been credited with writing the song, even though they were only the arrangers for their recordings of it which is also known as the "Carol of the Drum" transcribed from a traditional Czech carol back in 1941. It's officially 100 Days before PHILIPPINE CHRISTMAS 2009, so here It goes another "The Dr. Stirring Rhod Way" blogpost entitled "LITTLE DRUMMER BOY". Personally, I love this song and whenever I hear this It really creates goosebumps all around reminding me that CHRISTMAS is indeed just around the corner like any other CHRISTMAS CAROLS which are being played very early here in MANILA.Well, comparing in the 80s and 90s the celebration of PINOY CHRISTMAS was really felt very early but in these days It's very different. I guess time have changed the overall concept of the BER MONTHS but still PINOYS are always there to celebrate the CHRISTMAS SEASON in any form of simplicity even during difficult times. The fact of celebrating it with the family, love ones, and friends are good enough to take the lead for everyone. Well, with much of politics all around here in MANILA nowadays I guess we still have to remember this important season of LOVE, JOY,HAPPINESS and of course THE BIRTH OF CHRIST. I decided to feature this classic CHRISTMAS CAROL.


Henry Onorati arranged the song for a recording by the Jack Halloran Singers on Dot Records back in 1957, but was not released in time for Christmas. I guess It's not really time for the song to be heard that time. Harry Simeone re-arranged the song in 1958 and retitled it for his Chorale's hit single version which was issued on a 45rpm picture sleeve by 20th Fox Records then It was followed by an LP release entitled "Sing We Now of Christmas" which then became a hit. The company then became known as 20th Century Fox Records in 1963 which reissued and retitled their album and by this time It was called "The Little Drummer Boy: A Christmas Festival" to boost up sales even higher because the original 45-rpm single had continued to be a seasonal hit. In the 1980s, it was released on CD by Casablanca Records with the 1963 re-issue title, but without the "original version" credit. Harry Simeone signed to Kapp Records in 1964 and recorded a new version of "The Little Drummer Boy" in 1965 on Kapp K-711 with a 45rpm picture sleeve. Well, I think that's enough info about The Little Drummer Boy and let's go to the different versions that I'll be featuring here on "The Doctor Is In". We will not be including those original versions but instead those renditions that I love to listen to. YUP!! I uploaded FOUR of my favorite "Little Drummer Boy" versions for you to listen to and download here in my little blog. ENJOY THE MUZIC guys!!

My own kind of SEASON'S GREETINGS since I'm an avid fan of these three Radio Stations here in MANILA back in the 80s namely XB102, BM105. and NU107. YUP!! It's the same greetings I made last year. I would like to THANK everyone who visits this little blog of mine and of course who reads all my Blogposts which I always make sure that It would be very interesting for all of you. YUP!! It's not that easy to Blog because in my part I have to conceptualize every Blogpost and make sure that every texts and pictures to be included are all part of the whole thing. Of course, you guys continue to inspire me to blog here on "The Doctor Is In" up to 2009 and maybe beyond. I hope I'll always be in the Blogosphere. This SEASON of LOVE, JOY, and GIVING, may all of you have all the Blessings in Life. If you think you have problems in life just count your blessings and look around you maybe you'll just see that you are unique and still lucky with your present situation. Merry CHRISTmas or Merry CRISIS-mas?

GLOBAL RECESSION? YUP!! That's the condition that has affected everyone worldwide. Here in the PHILIPPINES, It has some SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS that is quite obvious already. Hmmp!! What's my own DIAGNOSIS? Whatever the situation of my KABAYANS, still they find their own ways to celebrate CHRISTMAS even with the crisis happening in their lives. Difficult times indeed that makes people wonder why and if how long would this last. Just the same everyone wishes to have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and whatever Trials and Tribulations that's coming up and the way to cope up is your FAITH and HOPE for a brighter future. Monetary wise, I have to get a grip of my own savings because we just don't know when this recession would end. It's still nice to save for the rainy days I guess.

UNDERGROUND RADIO CHRISTMAS SPECIALS

"R U Listening to U.R.?"- well, that's the famous station I.D. that I hear often whenever I get a chance to listen to the newly formatted RJ UNDERGROUND RADIO 105.9. This format came about early JULY of this year 2007 and I was just able to catch it last AUGUST. I find the playlist very interesting and as their DJs would say "We play CLASSIC ROCK, MODERN ROCK, and PINOY ROCK". Their radio dial LA 105.9 is the same FM dial which brought the PINOY ALTERNATIVE ROCK explosion of the early 90s but this time it is owned by Rajah Broadcasting Corporation which bought the station in 2006.

Last OCTOBER I was able to tune in to the early morning show of MICK ZINGER and MEMPHIS called "A.M. MAYHEM" before going to work and I find the show very cool. Great playlist indeed so if I have ample time in my schedule I listen to this morning show.

This December RJ Underground Radio 105.9 had these CHRISTMAS SPECIALS on their radio shows. YUP!! It was a great treat for their avid listeners. They started it out last DECEMBER 23 when HOWLIN DAVE's show "PINOY ROCK and RHYTHM" had their CHRISTMAS PINOY ROCK SPECIAL. I caught some of the show which was aired 12noon to 4pm and it was a refreshing rock show which showcased PINOY ROCK CHRISTMAS SONGS. Annng Galiiiing!! And last DECEMBER 24 and 25 RJ Underground Radion had a 48hour CHRISTMAS ROCK SPECIAL. Yup that's true 48hours of NON-STOP Rockin' Christmas tunes from all genres of rock. Of course, I was not a martyr to tune in for 48 hours because I was also busy for the Holidays. HE HE HE! Although, I caught some of the songs that was played during my spare time like THE PRETENDERS, THE KINKS, THE SCAVENGERS, etc. Well, that's CHRISTMAS for RAMON "RJ" JACINTO "owner of the station" and lead singer of the LEGENDARY PINOY 60s ROCK and ROLL BAND "R.J. and the RIOTS".

Thanks for these GREAT CHRISTMAS MUSIC TREATS indeed R.J. !!
