Nobody Remembers Their 1st Download
NOBODY REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST DOWNLOAD. Well, I don't....so how about you? A challenging photo for today's age of Downloadable Music. Hmmmp? I guess it's not challenging right? Let's just say "BORING". Times have change indeed, but for collectors like me It's still best to own the real copy of the music on Vinyl, CD, or Cassette Tape. CLASSIC FORMATS that's now forgotten by the new generation. So if you are a true music lover, collector or even a sound tripper please do get the official and original materials. Unless, you wanna brag about your mp3 collections just to be called "cool" then it's pointless to do so if you get my drift. Let's continue the passion of listening and collecting the REAL STUFFS and avoid PIRACY.

"The Doctor Is In" is FIVE YEARS OLD!!
HELLO EVERYONE!! The Doctor Is Still In this 2012 and today is my blog's 5th Birthday!! YUP!! You got it right Amigos, Friends, and Kabayans!! This humble blog of mine is FIVE YEARS OLD Today August 24, 2012 and time flies so fast indeed. Hmmp? Just imagine, I created this blog wayback 2007 and It's still alive until now with all the changes happening in the world. Well, even though I haven't been blogging that much this year 2012 due to other priorities and being busy in about everything, I still misses creating unique and cutting edge blogposts especially pertaining to my kind of music, passion and anything under the sun. Nevertheless, I will still try my best to update this little blog of mine starting this time since it just reminded me to do so by celebrating It's 5th Birthday in the Blogosphere. So what's my Blogpost Header Photo for today? It's a Birthday Balloon I got from my niece who celebrated her Birthday recently and that's a children's book about numbers and I just turned the page that featured the "# 5". Just "The Dr. Stirring Rhod Way" of celebrating a silent Blog Birthday Party. He He He!! I just realized that "The Doctor Is In" is already "Half A Decade Old" at this moment. Any significance? Just a sort of a Diary I may say. If you want to read my previous Anniversary Blogposts then just look for "Anniversary" on my "INFORMATION SOCIETY (LABELS)" at the lower right side of my blog and prepare to travel back in time when my blog celebrated all It's Birthdays and of course watch and listen to the Birthday Songs I featured back then. Hopefully, we will still be here in the blogosphere by 10 years, 15 years, 20 years or even beyond. I wonder what would the Internet look like 25 years from now. Naaahhh!! Will 2012 be really the end of world as we know it? Who knows? Let me take this opportunity to thank those who still visits my blog after all these years. THANKS for the unending support!! DOLPHY R.I.P.
COMEDY KING "DOLPHY" was laid to rest this afternoon at Heritage Park. He passed away at 8:34 p.m. last July 10, 2012 after his long battle with progressive illness Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The whole FILIPINO community gave their last respect for this great icon of Philippine Cinema. Just my little blogpost tribute who made everyone laugh and cry. A rare breed of humility in the true sense. Well, it has been a DOLPHY TRIBUTE everywhere here in the Philippines and definitely he deserves to be a NATIONAL ARTIST. I have a lot of fond memories of DOLPHY regarding his films and television sitcoms. I may say that he really made me laugh. He was indeed "THE COMEDY KING". May you Rest In Peace Sir RODOLFO VERA QUIZON, SR. I have included two theme songs in this blogpost of mine for you to listen and watch. YUP!! THE RECORD IS NOT OVER YET!!
In the age of i-pods, mp3s, and downloadable digital music; collectors like me still considers the Vinyl Record as the ultimate source of quality music. Kids of today are not anymore into these stuffs that used to spin on the turntables of their Dads and Moms and even their Grandpas and Grandmas. Whatever the case is; nothing beats the sound of Vinyl. Well if you have your own music collection and you don't have any Vinyl Records on it, I guess that's a quite an empty collection even though you display on your site your CD collections the same way I do in the concept format the way I took photos of some of my CD collection..... like "My _____ CD collection", then that's something to ponder about right. Naaaahh!! Copycats will always be copycats!. Ha Ha Ha!! Good thing they cannot copy "My Vinyl Records" thing. No matter what the younger generation of today would say about Digital Music....still nothing beats the VINYL RECORD. That's why up until now I still collect Vinyl Records and It's still my priority. Go away mp3s please!!!!! Get out downloadable music!!!!! No offense, but this is true indeed!!
Definitely, I loudly applaud and respect DJs who really use Vinyl Records on their mixes and not those digital music. Btw, I included an interesting video about "VINYLMANIA" and I love the quote"YOU DON'T OWN ANYTHING WHEN YOU BUY A DOWNLOAD, YOU DON'T OWN A DOWNLOAD!!!" Very TRUE indeed!! So where does the music industry lead to the future? I just don't want to know. My thoughts or afterthoughts? Utot, you want? Ha Ha Ha!! Owning a download? Naaaahhhh!! I have a great passion on collecting Vinyl Records and so I ultimately respect Vinyl Record Collectors especially those who bought records back on those days like me when these ancient artifacts were a hit. He He He!! So what do you call sites that share mp3s without really having the real stuffs? Hmmmmp? As if they have the materials on hand just finding out that it's just another bunch of downloadable music which they only got from other sites and they don't have the real things on their own vaults. Wheeeeew!! This is not a myth.... this is reality. No terminology available for that either. Ha Ha Ha!!
So what else are you waiting for? Get yourself a Vinyl Record today and tomorrow because you are missing a lot!!

Hello everyone!! Today is February 29, 2012 and the date "February 29" only comes by every four years and since It's Leap Year this year 2012 then It's a great honor for me to present a simple blogpost for today. YUP!! This is my second "February 29 Blogpost" here in the Blogosphere. You got it right!! My first one was wayback February 2008 and this was during the early years of my humble blog "The Doctor Is In" or better known also as "Docmuzic". WHEEEW!! That was Four Years ago. Hmmmp? I just realized that my blog will turn Five Years old this August 2012. Time just flies so fast and I'm just glad after all these years I'm still in the blogosphere. He He He!! I just wanna THANK everyone who still check my "blogspot.com" which is often imitated and never duplicated. Copying is still the best form of Flattery right? Well, my blogspot is still The One and Only ORIGINAL PINOY 80s/ NEW WAVE At Iba Pa Blogspot that's CUT ABOVE THE REST!! Ha Ha Ha!! So do always join me in the quest to travel back in time. O.M.D. LIVE in MANILA
Well, KABAYANS here it goes again another of our NEW WAVE HEROES coming over here in MANILA. YUP!! This time It's O.M.D. and It's not "Oh My Doctor" okay!! Ha Ha Ha!! It's O.M.D. "Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark" LIVE IN MANILA on March 12, 2012 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. So I guess It will be another trip down memory lane for all PINOY NEW WAVERS. Definitely, a treat for music lovers and music collectors like me. So travel into time when Vinyl Records spins on radio stations and dance floors. That's the 80s!! Unless if you don't have any Vinyl Records left in your collection then I might be talking aliens here. MORRISSEY in MANILA?
News have been coming out here in the Philippines for a possible MORRISSEY CONCERT here in MANILA. Well according to the fansite "True To You" Morrissey now is setting his sights on Asia and New Zealand, and is also expected to tour Japan followed by concerts in Thailand,South America, and of course my beloved country the Philippines. Hmmmp? That's interesting don't you think KABAYANS? Then again, we will just wait for the final plans since If there are still no tickets then there is no concert right? PINOY NEW WAVERS are still hoping for the best. My Blogpost header Photo seems to show how much thinking Morrissey is doing regarding his Philippine Concert. He He He!! Just cross our fingers guys and it will be really good to see the front man of "THE SMITHS" performing "LIVE" here in Manila. I wonder if there would really be a reunion of "THE SMITHS"? Naaaah!! In our dreams right? Just making this blog makes me think of how much would his concert be here in Manila. Waaaaah!! CYNDI LAUPER LIVE in MANILA
According to "EXUDE"... "Boys Just Wanna Have Sex", but for the original song.... It's CYNDI LAUPER and "GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN"!! This will be her second time here in MANILA performing LIVE. YUP!! I saw her performed back in 1989 at The FOLK ARTS THEATER on her "NIGHT TO REMEMBER TOUR '89", and It was definitely one of the memorable concerts I've watched back in the 80s. Well, I'm watching her again perform LIVE and this time at the SMART Araneta Coliseum. YUP!! "Cyndi Lauper Live in Manila!" on March 17, 2012 and where else but the latest venue of great 80s artist at SMART Araneta Coliseum. So KABAYANS, get ready to dance and go back in time again with the little girl that has a lot of Wrestlers as bodyguards back in the 80s. Remember that? Ha Ha Ha!! I just love the beat of her music and it just make you wanna dance to the groove. I guess in this time of digital music where people goes Gaga with Lady Gaga, you gotta go back to the basics when Vinyl Record really ruled. The memories of it are still very fresh and if you're only a CD collector and better yet a Pirated CD collector then who knows what you've missed if you know what I mean. He He He!!-DR. STIRRING RHOD

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!!
Another year is about to end, and I guess It's now time to leave 2011 and It's memories. YUP!! This is my last blogpost for this year.....HELLO 2012!! This coming year is another Leap Year so It will be my Blog's 2nd Leap Year in the Blogosphere. MORE SURPRISE BLOGPOSTS this upcoming year that I'll try to create in my free time. Interesting Blogpost Header Photo? YUP!! Some bits of my collection again for viewing. It has been a very busy and successful year 2011 for me and I'm really looking forward to 2012 and what lies ahead. I thank the LORD for all the blessings he had given me and my family this year 2011 and always praying for a brighter year ahead. MERRY CHRISTMAS 2011!!
It's this time of the year again when everyone is celebrating the birth of JESUS CHRIST. YUP!! Here in the PHILIPPINES, we have our very own way of celebrating CHRISTMAS and nothing beats the FILIPINO TRADITION. YUP!! Spending the holidays with Relatives, Friends, and Love Ones makes it very meaningful. Well, my little blog "The Doctor Is In" is one with the whole world in greeting everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS 2011!! This is my blog's 5th CHRISTMAS here in the blogosphere and hopefully we will continue to have more CHRISTMAS giving you the best CHEERS all year long. THANKS to everyone to continue to visit my blog once in a while. Hmmp? That's one kind of motivation!! SILENT NIGHT...Sendong's wrath
The whole FILIPINO Community is grieving due to another devastating typhoon that just struck the Southern Part of my beloved country the Philippines. We had ONDOY before here in MANILA and now we have SENDONG in MINDANAO. Personally, I just can't bear seeing those photos of dead people most specifically the children. Of course, I can't post those photos here. It's a few days before CHRISTMAS 2011, then suddenly this tragedy happened only last Saturday December 17, 2011 thus the whole country is in "National State Of Calamity". My little blog "The Doctor Is In" is one with my KABAYANS in PRAYING for the victims of this catastrophe of great proportion."ALMIGHTY GOD, please pray for those affected by Typhoon Sendong and most especially pray for the souls of those who perished and that the survivors will have strength to cope up with this tragedy. Pray also for those who are continuing helping the victims and may you also give them endurance and courage too."
I'll leave you with one of my favorite CHRISTMAS song "SILENT NIGHT" sang by STEVIE NICKS and included in the 1987 CHRISTMAS Compilation album entitled "A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS" which I have both in Vinyl Record and Cassette Tape. A simple song that would at least remind us that CHRISTMAS is around the corner and FILIPINOS are known to cope up with this kind of tragedy.

THE WILD SWANS "Bringing Home The Ashes"
THE WILD SWANS were formed back in 1980 but it was only on 1988 that the band released their very fist studio album entitled "BRINGING HOME THE ASHES". Fronted by Legendary Musician PAUL SIMPSON and a recent visitor here in the Philippines. The band had a different line up when they did a concert here in MANILA and CEBU. Definitely one of the most memorable New Wave Concerts I have ever watched the past three decades. Hmmmp? Talking about longevity right? Ha Ha Ha!! By the time "BRINGING HOME THE ASHES" was released by SIRE/REPRISE Records back in 1988, THE WILD SWANS' members were PAUL SIMPSON, JEREMY KELLY (Lotus Eaters), and JOE FEARON. YUP!! That's the trio in the Album Cover. That means that two of the members were able to visit the Philippines already since JEREMY KELLY was in MANILA together with PETER COYLE as "THE LOTUS EATERS" back in 2002. YUP!! They were here in MANILA LIVE IN CONCERT and that was also a great concert which I definitely didn't missed out. The reason why JOE FEARON was included in the line up was that GED QUINN who was also one of THE LOTUS EATERS dropped out few months before the album was completed and released. The making of the album also included session players on both keyboards and drums to add up to the unique sound. "BRINGING HOME THE ASHES" was produced by PAUL HARDIMAN and the album officially yielded two singles namely "YOUNG MANHOOD" and "BIBLE DREAMS". As I've mentioned here in my blog on my "THE WILD SWANS: PLATINUM COLLECTION" Blogpost back in APRIL 5 of this year 2011 only few days before the news of their PHILIPPINE CONCERT was revealed to me. THE WILD SWANS were first introduced here in MANILA by NU 107 back in 1988 with the song "BRINGING HOME THE ASHES". The next MANILA hit was "WHIRLPOOL HEART" which was also introduced by NU 107. Then other songs from the album keep on getting airplay from DZBM POWER 105 and of course NU 107 wherein the two singles "YOUNG MANHOOD" and "BIBLE DREAMS" then became a regular playlist. "BITTERNESS" and "ARCHANGELS" also became MANILA hits when It became part of the playlist of the Two Month College Radio Format of 99.5 RT's "RHYTHM AND ROCK" back in 1989. While "NORTHERN ENGLAND", 'MYTHICAL BEAST", and "THE WORST YEAR OF MY LIFE" became POWER 105 DZBM Hits. The one and only song from the album that really didn't have that necessary radio exposure was "NOW AND FOREVER".
Definitely, PINOY NEW WAVERS should have this album on their music collection. In my case, I bought the "BRINGING HOME THE ASHES" Album both on Vinyl Record and CD formats which is shown on the photo. The album for me is a great buy and I consider all songs as CLASSIC indeed!! The album is very much lighter than the early works of THE WILD SWANS, but the messages of the songs here are very dark and enigmatic in a way. Hmmmp? Talking about RELIGION, WAR, ANGST, and REBELLION gave the whole content of a Protagonist's Life of a Preacher I may say. The Music and Lyrics are cut above the rest with a splendid Melody that perks you up whenever you listen to the whole album.

I decided not to upload the whole album for download because all the 10 tracks were also included on the "The Wild Swans Platinum Collection" which I have already featured here on my little blog "The Doctor Is In". Btw, THE WILD SWANS performed a record SEVEN SONGS from the album on their MANILA Concert at ONE ESPLANADE last OCTOBER 1, 2011 which I think would establish how good the album is. The songs they played were "Bible Dreams", "Archangel", "Northern England", "Now and Forever", "Whirlpool Heart", "Worst Year of My Life", and of course the album's title track "Bringing Home the Ashes" which was also the song the band sang on their only Philippine T.V. appearance on EAT BULAGA which I've also featured here in my blog recently.

There was a Tribute Party given to the Late RONALD TENGSICO aka. TAZMANIAN DEVIL who was one of the Legendary DJ of POWER 105 DZBM FM back in JULY 3, 2010 which was entitled "BRINGING HOME THE ASHES" and held at NOMIXX BAR and RESTO. TAZ, THE GODFATHER of THE POWER SWITCHERS CLUB as he was called, passed away MAY 24, 2010 then was cremated. Well, as the saying goes "ASHES TO ASHES; DUST TO DUST".
I also included Two VIDEO CLIPS of THE WILD SWANS CONCERT here in MANILA shared by fellow KABAYANS just to spice up this blogpost of mine. Well, since I'm not really into taking Videos that much in Concerts because of my experience of singing along with the songs while watching, then my voice would be much louder. Ha Ha Ha!! YUP!! I was supposed to upload Videos of The Lost 80s, Gene Loves Jezebel Concerts, just to name a few since I was lucky to attend all these NEW WAVE 80s concerts here in MANILA, but that problem couldn't be solved. Ha Ha Ha!! Up until now, I still have goosebumps recalling what transpired on THE WILD SWANS Concert. WOW!! THAT WAS INDEED AN EXCELLENT CONCERT TO BE CHERISHED!! GO WEST Live In MANILA!! YUP!! You got it right guys!! Another of our 80s Heroes are coming over to MANILA this NOVEMBER 11 & 12, 2011. So KABAYANS, I guess 2011 just turned out to be a year of NEW WAVE 80s CONCERTS. GO WEST will perform LIVE at EASTWOOD MALL OPEN PARK on NOVEMBER 11 at 7pm and at VENICE PLAZA FORT BONIFACIO on NOVEMBER 12. Hmmmp? Familiar Concert Venues Concepts?
