FLASHBACK CAFE

Back in 1995,two New Wave compilation CDs were made available here in MANILA specifically at ODYSSEY RECORD SHOPS released by OGLIO RECORDS entitled "FLASHBACK CAFE Vol.1 & 2". This was the time when 89 DMZ's New Wave Radio Show "WAVE180" was at It's peak and definitely such compilations would be an easy target for PINOY WAVERS who loves this kind of musical genre. YUP!! There were two volumes and each of them doesn't really include much rare stuffs but at least the Tracklistings of both Volumes 1&2 were good enough in a way that in those times songs from these New Wave Bands were still difficult to acquire especially the Internet was not yet a major source here in the Philippines back then. Well, for my first blogpost for this year 2009 I decided to blog about this compilation which were very familiar for PINOY WAVERS back in the 90s.

15) Oblivious - Aztec Camera

FLASHBACK CAFE Vol.2

11) Digging Your Scene - The Blow Monkeys

14) Avalon - Roxy Music

Definitely, two great New Wave CDs worth remembering which were considered as followup to RICHARD BLADE's FLASHBACK FAVORITES compilation CDs which were also made available here in MANILA back then. Well, just travelling you back to the 90s with the spirit of the 80s I may say. A lot of PINOYS love to drink coffee whether It's hot or cold and hanging out on CAFES is one habit for the youngsters nowadays. If you're on my generation, then KABAYAN you should recall the GMA7 sitcom "CAFETERIA AROMA" with the late Apeng Daldal and Manok. He He He!! THAT'S FLASHBACK CAFE!! Ha Ha Ha! Remember Blend 45 and Great Taste Coffee? Naaah!! There's only one world of Nescafe which is still very popular here in MANILA after those years. Hmmp!! Free advertising? Btw, both these CDs are still available on the NET so I didn't upload it anymore. A taste of XB,BM, and NU classics for everyone to reminisce indeed!! So KABAYAN take your KAPENG BARAKO while listening to NEW WAVE music to increase your adrenaline!! Who would go wrong with music from THE CHURCH, FICTION FACTORY, NICK LOWE, SCARLET AND BLACK, ICEHOUSE, ENGLISH BEAT and a lot more to satisfy your eardrum. It's just the way you like It while remembering the good old days.

Let's relax at the
FLASHBACK CAFE!!

Rob-a-Dub-Dub: I encountered this Flashback Cafe years ago when I was still very active buying vinyls in Virramall. CD Warehouse have both, plus Living in Oblivion series too.
